Are you a leader who's passionate about defending people from abuse, spam, and manipulation? Are you excited by challenging problems that require a multi-disciplinary approach and creative solutions? Does the idea of growing the collective health, openness, and civility of public conversation on Twitter interest you? If so, you should join us!

Who We Are
The teams in Twitter’s Trust & Safety department are on the front lines of safety, speech, and policy issues that affect the Internet. We work to ensure user trust, protect user rights, and mitigate legal risk through policy definition, Terms of Service enforcement, and safety advocacy. We innovate, experiment, and move at a fast pace. We’re a learning organization with a growth mindset, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our policies and ourselves.

What You'll Do
We are seeking a Head of Site Integrity who will lead our continued efforts around combating platform manipulation and ensuring information quality through policies and strategies that promote trust in Twitter. You’ll be responsible for the operations of our Information Quality Policy, API Policy, and Spam Policy teams as they conduct investigations and take on a wide range of issues daily and will both represent and serve as an advocate for those teams.

You will also:
  • Provide strategic direction and define the teams' short- and long-term goals in support of both department and company overall goals.
  • Collaborate with our Product Trust team to influence new or existing product features, with the goal of ensuring user safety and providing built-in product safeguards.
  • Provide insightful inputs to new and existing policies and processes, with an eye toward increasing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct exploratory analysis to identify threats to site integrity by defining and evaluating metrics of user behavior.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to perform end-to-end quantitative analysis projects, communicate results, and turn analyses into tools, predictive models, and systems to assist in better identifying and mitigating attacks.
You may also be required to speak on behalf of the department to internal teams, law enforcement, safety partners, government agencies, and users.
You will report directly to the VP for Trust & Safety in San Francisco.

Who You Are
  • You have multidisciplinary experience in technical or quantitative fields and data-informed decision-making.
  • You are able to interpret information from multiple sources and work with large datasets.
  • You have a deep understanding of and experience with statistical analysis.
  • You have experience in SQL or other programming languages and familiarity with Python, PHP, or similar scripting languages.
  • You have strong management skills and are comfortable setting clear priorities and eliminating barriers to success.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are flexible, self-starting, self-motivated, and hard-working.
  • You are a strategic thinker and valued collaborator; you can design and execute on a vision while working cross-functionally.
  • You actively recognize needs, solve problems, anticipate issues, and develop solutions.
  • You are comfortable working with multinational teams who may (at times) have competing priorities.
  • You are open to international travel.

Required Experience
  • 5+ years experience working on relevant issues, preferably at an internet or technology company.
  • 4+ years experience in a quantitative role.
  • Bonus: Has held positions that require public speaking, including to partners, advertisers, law enforcement, and government agencies.

Note: this role involves potential exposure to sensitive or graphic content, including but not limited to vulgar language, violent threats, pornography, and other graphic images.
